Melbourne, the metropolitan city of Victoria

Melbourne is the largest populated city in the State of Victoria and ranks second in the list of highest population cities of Australia. The Melbourne city center, also known as the hub of the metropolitan area recorded a total population of 4 million at the June 2009 census.
