Mackay is a small town that is surrounded by over 20 white sandy beaches. One of the popular beaches in the town in the Harbour Beach, this beach has got quite a number of patrollers year round making a safe place for tourists. The Eimeo and also the Blacks Beaches are ideal for the afternoon swims especially during the hot winter times. You will also enjoy the fishing activities and the long walks at the beach. The town of Mackay also has fascinating shopping, entertainment and dining facilities. The Botanical Gardens are also a must visit for the flora enthusiasts. You will also learn about the history of the plants of the town and get to see some other species that you have not yet seen before.
The Mackay Maria Village is certainly an impressive place that you should visit in the heart of Mackay. Just find some time to soak under the sunshine at the Dine Alfresco whilst also enjoying the scenic view of the landforms. The Mackay’s former Town Hall is also one spectacular historical monument that is viewed by tourists from all over the world. The building was built in 1975 and the architectural work reflects that of this period in time.
